In order to follow government advice we are implementing the following guidelines until further notice:
Facemasks must be worn whilst attending group training classes indoors. (If you are exempt from wearing a mask you must wear your exemption badge visibly)
Two meters distance must be maintained at all times between other clients and trainers
Clients are not permitted to interact with or handle other dogs on the course
A maximum of 2 handlers per dog is permitted in each class (this includes children)
Well behaved children may attend with one adult.
If you have a cough, cold or have any of the symptoms of COVID-19 or, have been with anyone who has the virus or any symptoms or, have travelled abroad to one of the countries that the Government require individuals to self-isolate for 2 weeks on return to the UK, you will not be able to attend classes for the two weeks whilst you are self-isolating. This will be treated as any other absence from class and you will not be able to carry any classes over to other courses.
Anyone refusing to follow the guidelines will be asked to leave the class and no refund will be issued. We appreciate your co-operation in order that we can attempt to keep everyone safe and continue operating in these challenging times.

Handling: Harsh handling, force, physical or emotional intimidation are not permitted during sessions.
Equipment: Please ensure your dog is wearing a flat collar and a standard trigger hook lead. Our preference is using a harness and training lead. These can be purchased through our webshop. All harnesses are made to measure.

Paws 4 Training only use reward-based methods in our training and we DO Not allow punishment for any unwanted behaviour within our training sessions and will help and advise you on the best ways to prevent these behaviours from happening. Punishment includes shouting, using a raised voice, hitting, pushing on your dog to get them in to position and yanking your dog to get their attention. Your dog is trying to communicate with you that they are uncomfortable.
Your Dogs Behaviour: If your dog brings harm to another person/dog or damages property, the owner is liable for the offence made.
Under the ‘Control of Dogs Order’ (1992) all dogs must be wearing a suitable flat collar with the owner’s name and FULL address inscribed either on a plate on the collar or on a tag attached to the collar. This is to be worn at all times in public places. This is the LAW.

Please ensure you clean up after your dog and take all dog waste home with you. We do not have the facilities to dispose of dog waste at our training centre.
If a dog is unable to cope in a class environment we will discuss your options with you.
In signing up for classes you are signing up to agree that your dog is dog-to-dog friendly and friendly with people. Any dogs attending which are found to have issues with other dogs and people may be asked to leave. In this instance, we will endeavour to work with you to find a solution.
