Paws 4 Training are always striving to offer the best bespoke service to our clients.

Over the last 14 years we have worked with many breeds, pedigrees, crossbreeds, and mongrels! Each dog is unique and brings something different to our training centre.

We have a passion for helping puppies from an early age. The sooner you start your puppies training with a professional the better!

We are often asked “Is my puppy too young to start training?”

The answer is simple “No”.

Absolutely not. The sooner we start laying foundations down for our puppies, helping them to have positive experiences to help shape them into being the dogs that we desire to own the better.

Those early days are crucial for all breeds but even more crucial for others.

What breeds do we hear you ask, and why?

Small Terriers (Jack Russells, Norfolk Terriers, Patterdales are just a few of the terrier breeds we love to work with)

In a nutshell terriers are lively intelligent cheeky breeds that if left to their own devices can become terrorists! They can bark a lot at other dogs, at people, at cats and vehicles at mice turning pebbles! They can be stubborn, refusing to do what is asked of them.

When I told someone my next dog was going to be a Jack Russell, the first thing they said was don’t do it! They are awful dogs, hard to train they yap all the time. As with many things, this is the stereotypical description. I was determined that my dog would be different and she is. She isn’t a “typical yappy terrier”. Yes she barks but there is usually a reason for it. That’s how dogs communicate.

German Shepherds

German Shepherds are beautiful graceful, loyal, incredibly intelligent dogs.

A herding/guarding breed that are intelligent and gets highly attached to their guardians, it is essential to give them support and guidance to become a well-rounded adult.

Training needs to start immediately to help prevent many of the problems that are associated with this beautiful breed.

We have worked with many over the years. Their loyalty is second to none. They love to work and need an owner who is going to be committed to working on their training from the day they join your home at 8 weeks of age.
