Scent Training Level 3 Workshop
During the level 3 scent training workshop we will be including postal and bag searches for the dogs to find cheese or scented toys.
The searches will be much harder and we will also be looking for the dogs to indicate to the handler that they have found something.
This will be done through freeshaping and using the clicker to mark when the dogs have indicated a find.
All dogs must be friendly with dogs and people.
What you and your dog will learn:
- How to progress the training you learnt from level 2 to make the searches harder
- Multiple difficult searches using envelopes and bags
- How to capture when your dog indicates a find
We will show you how to structure your search routes to ensure your dog thoroughly works the search area.
Allowing your dog to work more independently by letting them work the search area with less guidance from you.
We will start to free-shape the dogs if they indicate to you that they have found the toy or food that they are searching for by marking this with a clicker
