We offer fun agility training courses at our indoor training centre.

The first 6 weeks of your training will cover working on proprioception and obedience that is essential for agility. This greatly improves your dog’s ability to progress.

We will introduce some of the equipment during this course. After the initial course, the following 6-week courses will continue your agility journey, introducing more complex handling and more equipment.

Our courses are suitable for dogs from the age of 1 year. Some of the behaviours which are essential to assist you with your dogs agility training are focus, wait or stay under distraction and recall.

If your dog struggles with these behaviours we can offer 1-2-1 training to help you as it will greatly improve their ability to progress in agility. We also have a recall course that your dog may benefit from.

All dogs MUST be friendly with dogs and people and not bark excessively during a class environment.

What you and your dog will learn in the first course:

  1. Proprioception to assist with your dog’s awareness of the position and movement of the body
  2. Perfection of some advanced obedience including stay under distraction
  3. Working your dog on both sides
  4. An introduction to the tunnel and basic jumping

What you and your dog will learn in the second course:

  1. Progression with the equipment
  2. Learning jump and tunnel sequences
  3. Introduction to weaving

Subsequent follow-on courses:

  1. Progression with complex handling skills
  2. Progression with complex courses incorporating your handling skills
  3. Contact equipment

All of the above exercises will be achieved over time depending on how quickly the dogs progress.

Workshops

From time to time we may offer workshops to work on some of the other equipment as this is more beneficial than teaching this in a 1 hour lesson. If you are interested in a workshop for learning a particular piece of equipment please do get in touch.

All of our training is based on positive reward based training. We will be using a combination of high value treats and toys. Lotus balls and tuggy toys are essential for agility. As it helps your dog to progress their distance from the handler.

Toys are available to purchase from the training centre.
