Our classes are very popular so we encourage early booking to ensure you have a space.
We are looking into the potential of running additional temporary classes for a few weeks to cope with the demand. These will run on different days to our regular classes then we can move you to our regular classes when we have availability.
Our puppy classes have been developed with an emphasis on preventing common behaviour problems and helping your puppy to take responsibility for being well behaved. Ideally these skills are incorporated into daily life so time spent training your dog is reduced. This will of course take consistency and commitment from you as an owner, but once the habits of interacting are established it will become a natural way of living with your dog.
We teach you and your puppy how to cope with everyday problems and distractions and how to have fun and learn together
What your puppy will learn:Settle – how to be calm Loose lead walking Recall – incorporating legs to make putting the lead on easier Leave – food manners and impulse control Sit and down Stay – the basics Being handled Interaction with other puppies Play with owner De-sensitisation of objects Enrolment is on a weekly basis. You can start as soon as your puppy has been fully vaccinated. There is no need to wait a week or two until your puppy can be walked as we have a controlled environment and all puppies and dogs that attend our classes must be fully vaccinated and proof of vaccination must be shown at the first class.
The puppy course consists of 6 classes and each class is for just under one hour. Our classes will give your puppy a really great foundation level of training and will help you progress quickly with any further training you choose to attend with us.
As we offer different days and class times for puppy classes you can switch between the classes or attend more than one a week, which we find is helpful for shift workers. We just ask you to let us know when you are coming to class.
Pre-booking and payment in advance is essential to guarantee your place. (please be advised we do not accept cheques)
This course is suitable for puppies from 10 weeks to 22 weeks of age.
The cost is £75 for 6 classes.
As enrolment is on a weekly basis, if you are unable to attend a class we ask that you let us know. Failure to advise us you are unable to attend results in you losing that class.
Our aim is to create an outstanding class to offer our clients with behaviour in mind right from the start.
Vaccinations: All puppies and dogs attending classes must be fully vaccinated and proof of vaccination must be shown at your first class. Should you choose not to vaccinate, a letter stating your dog’s blood titre levels must be presented on headed paper and signed by your veterinary surgeon. If you choose these routes, Paws 4 Training will not be held responsible for any illness your dog may contract whilst training with Paws 4 Training at our training centre.
We only use kind and gentle methods in our training classes and 1-2-1’s and do not allow the use of choke (check) chains, slip leads or slip collars, half choke (check) collars or non-pull harnesses.
