We have two types of webbing that we use; padded webbing and cushion webbing. The padded webbing is slightly softer and thicker than the cushion webbing that we use on our harnesses. The padded webbing comes in two different widths and a variety of colours, plain or two colour striped. The cushion webbing is in two different widths and are in plain colours.
Our harnesses have been designed to help you to control your dog. With 2 points of contact it will minimise pulling and your dog will feel more balanced when used with a training lead (sold separately). To ensure the harness fits correctly they are made to measure (please see measurement diagram and guidelines attached for where to correctly measure your dog’s neck and chest).
To help guide you for pricing select the appropriate sized harness, see breed examples below for the harness size they will need. These are standard sizes, but to ensure the harness fits correctly please enter your dog’s measurements in centimeters.
Small – small/medium sized puppies, Cavalier, Lhasa Apso, Cocker Spaniel, Jack Russell – Chest measurement up to 40 cm
Medium – medium/large sized puppies, Springer Spaniel, Shar-Pei, Bulldog – chest measurement up to 60 cm
Large – Labrador, Border Collie, German Pointer, Alaskan Malamute, Boxer, Dalmatian – chest measurement up to 80 cm
Extra Large – German Shepherd, Dogue De Bordeaux, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Great Dane, Mastiff, Newfoundland – chest measurement over 80 cm
The widths are 19mm for small and medium harnesses and 25mm for medium, large and extra large harnesses. For some breeds it may be necessary to use a slightly wider webbing. We will choose the width of webbing that we feel will best suit your breed of dog. The width of webbing does not affect the cost.
For dogs who have particularly curly fur or don’t have much fur for example a greyhound, additional padding can be added to the harness for a small additional cost. Please email or call for further information.
Don’t forget training accessories are only as good as the handler. You will still need to put in time to train your dog to walk correctly. Using a correctly fitting harness will help with this process.
Products are usually made within 4 weeks of placing the order. At particularly busy times it may be slightly longer. We will advise you if this is the case.
